You're right. If you give us more information we might be able to help. Things like:
    1. using rman?
    2. in archivelog mode?
    3. how did you perform backup?
    4. incremental or full?

    hi marist89!
My question is: in archivelog mode, but not using rman commands. What are the difference between "recover database until change 222222" and
"recover database until change 222222 using backup controlfile" while the current controlfile is available.

If your current controlfile is available, use it.

using backup contol file tells oracle to ignore the SCN in the control file you are using....so If you have a backup of the control file on Sunday and then Friday you have a failure. using the Sun control file without the backup controlfile option would result in Oracle rolling forward to Sunday and then stopping as the reocery process would see that control files SCN as being the most current.
