    V$parameter Vs. V$parameter2

    Hi,

Whats difference between V$parameter and V$parameter2. I dint see much difference other than column ORDINAL is extra in V$parameter2 which values is 1 everywhere.. Then what is the significance of having different View for viewing parameters.

Where to use v$parameter2 instead of v$parameter.

Thnx in advance for your time and reply.

    Rgds,

The ordinal col will take serial number for a parameter that has more than one value. Example control_files parameter.

Other than that there is no difference.

You can use either one of them.
