    hello
pl tell how to calculate UGA use for a typical user in shared server mode,
    as i read-
To determine an effective setting for the large or shared pools, observe UGA use for a typical user and multiply this amount by the estimated number of user sessions.

it is recommended in mts to set a size for large_pool in init.ora
    how to estimate large_pool_size.

also what should be the no.of dispatchers?shared_servers??

    thanks for all help

    hello,
anybody can tell how performance will affected by setting no.of dispatchers=5 in a scenario where 30 connections r there and 5 shared server proceses r there.
book says to set 1 dispatcher per 250 connections can anybody tell how performance will be degraded by setting more dispatchers .

When maximum number of server processes are reached, and still Oracle wants to add new server process then system hangs. In that situation, change the max parameter in INIT.ORA file and bounce the database.
