SQLPLUS login PB
When I try to login to sqlplus, I get this error message:
Enter user-name: system
ORA-01034: ORACLE not available
ORA-27101: shared memory realm does not exist
Linux Error: 2: No such file or directory
What is this error about ? How can I solve this problem ?

Oracle Certified Associate.
DBA & Programming.
Instance service (???)
What is that ?
How do I start it ?
Nighthawki didn't noticed you are using Linux, he/she probably thaught you are on Windows. So it was just an inappropriate terminology he used - read his answer as: "Start your database."
Please do not delete your own threads as you recently did - it is a very selfish and inapropriate thing to do in open forums like this one. If you were brave enough to ask a question, be brave enough to leave it online once someone has taken his/her free time to answer to your problems. Other members might learn something from it in the future, don't you think?
ASCII a stupid question, get a stupid ANSI
24 hours in a day .... 24 beer in a case .... coincidence?
