report talk to database

Hi.

I am trying to connect to a local database from reports builder. I get the following errors:

rep-0501: could not connect...
ORA-12154: TNS: could not resolve service name

I have already tried:

Stop and start all services involved.


Also, I can connect to database through sql+.

Any help? Suggestions?

Do Reports and SQL*Plus use same SQL*Net version. We had same problem where reports used SQL*Net and SQL*PLus used NET80.

I had a problem with the NET8 install. It was an error message that I received when installing reports developer.

If this is the problem, how can I fix it? I am working locally.
