Lightbulb Oracle 8i does not start automatically in Windows Server 2003

    Dear Friends,

Machine Type: Intel P4 with 845g Motherboard
    OS Type: Windows Server 2003.
Database: Oracle 8i for Windows NT and 2000 .

I am trying to start the Oracle 8i server automatically with the machine boot up. As machines will be handled by users only in remote locations , Its important to start the database automatically . But not happening.

TNS Listners start automatically , status showed in the Services Applet as starting .

If we start database by going to svrmgrl , connect internal , then startup , it works fine .

How to start database automatically . Please help .

Did you specify "-startmode auto" with ORADIM?

If not, rather than hack the registry, do an ORADIM -DELETE followed by an ORADIM -NEW (in theory you can do an ORADIM -EDIT - I've never got that to work!).
