    Cool Third party database monitoring tools

    I'm looking for a Oracle database monitoring tools. I have two softwares in mind. One is SmartDBA (or Patrol) from BMC Software and the other Spotlight from Quest Software. Does anybody know other tools?

    If money is not a constraint, go for dbtuner.

    I personally like Spolight from Quest for monitoring. I also use DBArtisan for maintenance, etc. It's easier to use than 9i OEM, IMHO.

    Okay, I have to defend myself here. I use OEM too. But I have to maintain DB2 dbs as well as Oracle. DBArtisan lets me do both, from one app.

    DB2, I use a miners hat, compass and pick ax for that. Friggin old skool mainframe crap!!
    I remember when this place was cool.

    I tend to agree... but this place pays my bills and treats me pretty well. So I don't complain.

    Also, the DB2 dbs I maintain are on Unix, not the mainframe. So it's not ALL bad!
