There are also people who say 9i is too fresh as well ... do as you should always do with new software versions -- deploy in a test environment and test-test-test.

10g is too fresh, I put one in production last month and need to use 9iR2 optimizer not mentioning other 10 bugs or so I found

Working for me quite nicely -- haven't hit any bugs at all yet (DW environment, that is).

have you tried rman backup and recovery, there are at least two bugs
optimizer bug, if you use connect by and inline view with distinct core dumps, need to use 9i´s CBO
renaming redo log member corrupts your database (yes recreate from zero)
TKPROF´s explain option causes ORA-00922: missing or invalid option
Querying v$sql_plna core dumps randomly
etc etc and goes on

Heck, we've found a few 9.2.0.4 bugs in the last month!

Our idiot production DBA's won't use RMAN -- "corporate" policy. Yeah, I know.

No "connect by" used.

nope, not done it
Boy, sucks to be you!
Of course, being a DWh environment we're using a v. different set of features to OLTP.
