Exclamation Contents of Pfile are gone???!!!!!

    Hi
When i tried starting up the DB using initSID.ora i got the following error:

LRM-00123: invalid character 0 found in the input file
ORA-01078: failure in processing system parameters

and when i checked the pfile i didn't see anything the contents were gone so what could be the problem and how to fix it ?!

    Thank you in advance

Do you have a backup of your pfile? If so, just copy it back.
If I have to choose between two evils, I always like to choose the one I haven't tried yet.

    I think this will work,

if you can start ur db with nomount option

select the name and value of v$parameter
    where ISDEFAULT = 'FALSE'

edit the output and name it as your new pfile.

create one if you know your db name and block size. Check the location of control files physically and include the path in Pfile.

Rest of the parameters can be adjusted as per your requirements
