    Unknown or invalid NLS parameter specified. could not connect

    I am trying to connect to oracle 8i database using a program called livelink. But i get this error each time i tried to connect. Pls how do i rectify it. My NLS parameter on the database and the registry is the same that is AMERICAN_AMERICA.WE81SO8859P1.

    You could be up against the same probs as Instant Client http://www.dbasupport.com/oracle/ora...client02.shtml

    Try SET NLS_LANG before running the prog.

    Setting NLS_lang did not work. i still had the same errors
