    TKPROF and wait events?

    Hello,

    I'm reading "Effective Oracle by Design" by Thomas Kyte. Chapter 8 (page 449-451) shows a test with db_file_multiblock_read_count. Tom prooves his theory with tkprof-output (event 10046 trace name context forever level 12).
    The output also shows the encountered wait-events.

    I tested it, but wait-events aren't in my output. According to the documentation this probably isn't present in this version (8.1.7). I looked at the doc's of 9i rel2 and I couldn't find it either.

    How can I get wait-events displayed in my tkprof-output?

    Try using Trace Analyser:

    Trace Analyzer compared to TKPROF
    Recent Releases of TKPROF provide a limited list of WAIT EVENTs per SQL Statement. Prior Releases did not provide any. The Trace Analyzer provides a detailed list of WAIT EVENTs per SQL Statement for any Release of RDBMS higher than 8.1.6.
    . . .or make sure you have the v.latest tkprof.
