Differences between NT and UNIX

Hi !

I'm used to administrate Oracle DB on NT and
I've to go on UNIX,
could you tell me the main differences between
both for installation and creation of instance.

I've a few idea but nothing really constructed.
Could tell me how to the same (installation and creation)
on UNIX or where can i find a guidelines.
