Inport from higher version for export file

I have two version of oracle 8.0.5 and 8.1.7

How to import file in 8.0.5 from export file created in 8.1.7

Always create exp dump using the lowest version.

It is possible to take exp file from lower version

But i have a export file of higher version and import it in lower version.

it will not work that i know.

But i have two diffrent sites.

At one site i have oracle 8.0.5 and at another 8.1.7

now i want to transfer some tables from 8.1.7 to 8.0.5

for that i need to take export from 8.1.7 and import it in 8.0.5

is there any way ?

Install 8.0.5 client (includes the exp.exe and imp.exe as well) at the 8.1.7 site and use that 8.0.5 exp client to get the exp dump.

You might not need to install 8.0.5 on server if you have 8.0.5 client installed somewhere else.
