Thread: who is the culprit??

    Hi:
    want to figure out who has issued a truncate or delete statement and wiped out a table. tried looking into v$sqltext but did not find. do not have auditing turned on.. any quick suggestions..thanks

    Can you find out what table privileges users have or what roles they have

    presently it is truncated. i shall look into the privs but any other suggestions

    You need to look in DBA_TAB_PRIVS via GRANTEE to see who has what table privileges
    That may be your starter

    You can only get that information if you have auditing turned on.

    You can also look at the listener log to see who logged in at what time - if you have a timeframe when the trunc was done.

    iF the database is in archivelog .do a log miner you will be able to catch the culprit
