I have been studying to become an OCP DBA. I've been hearing something about an "Application DBA". This sounds like something that I would be more interested in.
My skill set is right in the middle of an Oracle Developer and an Oracle DBA. For the past four years I have been creating databases, checking performance and tuning them, backing up and recovering, loading data to the tables, writing SQL and PL/SQL code to access the data as well as creating reports. All this for one group and one application (not for the entire company).
Is there such a thing as an "Application DBA"? If so, am I already one and can I get certified for that? Where can I find more information on it?

Well there are three types of DBA
Development, Application & Production
Application would be the one Administering Oracle on Oracle Financials, BAAN, SAP
Development would probably better suit your situation
