I just restored a table using import as a test, it works.
I didn't say it wouldn't work.
Go ahead and run your backups with exp/imp. We'll be happy to answer your posts in 3 months saying "Don't you have a phyical backup?". IMHO, using exp/imp as your primary backup/restore methodology for production databases is a beginner's mistake.

Yes it is "some production database" and it has been for years. We have critical apps and non-critical apps. While I do respect your opinion, it is your opinion.
Our "beginner's mistake" has been successfull for the three years I have been here and long before I came on board. I have recovered tables and an entire database using them, the latter was a Unix failure, all with NO PROBLEMS!!
I'll call you first when I have one.
