    Question Change global_name in a replication environment

    Is there a way I can change the GLOBAL_NAME for the database without having to delete and recreate the master_repgroup?

    The reason I want to change the GLOBAL_NAME is that the GLOBAL_NAME for the database has a '-' in it. This is preventing me from creating a database link to that database.

    I suspect that if u change the GLOBAL_NAME your existing database links will work and even it may effect your rep groups.Why don't u recreate the links & groups once u change the GLOBALNAMES parameter as per ur convinience?.
