multiple index hints format
Hi,
Can someone please confirm this for me?
I would like to use mutliple index hints in my select statement, but I am not sure of the proper formatting.
SELECT /*+ Index(A some index), Index (B some inde) */
Is this the correct format? Do I need to use the comma?
Thanks
Roman

No, no commas between various hints.

After checking the documentation I realized that apparently it doesn't matter wethere you use commas between the hints or not - Oracle will correctly interpret both hints as such even if there is a comma between them. Documentation states that the synax for hints is:
Code:
{DELETE|INSERT|SELECT|UPDATE} /*+ hint [text] [hint[text]]... */
So the comma between the two hints will be interpretted as an ordinar comment text between the first and the second hint. I'm only not sure wether there must be a space between the first hint and the comma or not (reading the above sintax very strictly there shoulžd be a space between the hint and any following comment text, but I'm not sure abot that.
