Surviving a Database Disaster with RMAN Backups
Hi,
I read the new doc http://www.dbasupport.com./oracle/ora9i/rman.shtml
I got really surprised when the author says RMAN could not find his last archive logs : "[...] RMAN catalog did not understand archive logs that were created after we had run the RMAN backup. We had to do manual cataloging of all the archive logs [...]"
I well thought RMAN recorded the archive log as soon as the redolog got archived.
What do you people think ? have you faced that kind of problem before ?
Thanks to share your experience.
