full database import problem
I Have oracle database 8.1.7.4 size 10gb running on sun solaris 8.
Now i have asked to create new database of same size on different server OS is sun solaris 8 .
I have created the new database which is of 10gb same as that of source database,
took a full database dump from running database
importing into freshly created database, but getting error unable to extent %table
Could any one guide me how to proceed? why this error coming up?
i have space constraints , cannot add datafile or auto extentd the file
What my boss says is i want similar copy same as earlier existing running database.

most likely you forgot to use compress=n in your export/import.
personally, I would rather clone the database as long as it's the same OS. It's a lot quicker and you don't have to worry about space issues.

Sounds like you blew out a tablespace. Can you attach the error log?
I remember when this place was cool.

You've answered your own question
Before you created the new database, did you make the tablespaces the same size as the orginal?
Oracle it's not just a database it's a lifestyle!
