    is there such a thing as Oracle Enterprise Manager Console in 10g??

    hi,

    I have read thru the 10g doc. and am quite confused at this moment..abt the EMCTL/EMCA db-admin via http webpage stuff....was wondering if the usual OEM console still exist?


    someone can throw some light?

    Oh, it's java alright, behind the scenes. But it doesn't suck like in 9i.

    ok my bad, however no more killing the jrew.exe from task mgr to kill the damn thing when it locks up though unless I'm mistaken

    where is OEM available in the companion Cd or the first cd ?its all so confusing these days

    it´s on seperate CDs, called OEM Grid Control Relese 1.0

    really? i heard some says the OEM java thing is residing in 10g client CD??? i hv yet to download...quite huge..anyone can confirm on this?

    There are two things here: "One is OEM for Grid Control" and the other is "OEM for database".

    The latter one comes with the default installation... at the end of the installation it gives you the URLs for OEM page and also iSQLPLUS. The OEM serive can be started / stopped through the executable emctl that resides in the ORACLE_HOME/bin dir.
