Oracle Expert user?
Anyone out there have some experience with Oracle Expert?
If so what do you think of it?
I started poking around with it a couple of weeks ago and it had been interesting. I just wanted to hear from other users, what they use it for or should it be avoided like a developer on Starbucks?

Mr hanky. I used Oracle expert and personally, I dont think it is a very good product. It tends to tell me the same basic things. Increase db_block_buffers..add more rbs etc. It doesnt get down to the nitty gritty such as waits..

That is an honest opinion, I am using it mostly for index reccomendations so far. All opinions are welcome though.
Thanks.

I've used it in the past but jlakhani is right it just gives the basics that we already know anyway.
If you're looking for a good tool that will recommend indexes, that sqltuning module is pretty good. I've found by plugging in a query that I'm having trouble with, then clicking on index recommendations, it will go out and look at all the indexes that reside on the tables that you're querying, see if a re-write for the index is in order or offer a complete new one.
It's pretty good if you don't have the ability to re-write sql statements, (you know like Oracle Apps).
Oracle it's not just a database it's a lifestyle!
