converting table data to text or .csv file
Hi Friends,
Im converting my oracle table data to a text format or a csv file (comma delimited). I have noticed that one of the columns has an
unprintable character in it (it is the carriage return char, or the
next line char, or the ^M ) which makes a single row splits into 2
lines making my convertion get an error. How can i update this column
containing this character and replace it with space or " ".
Thanks a lot.

example:
SQL> create table john (col1 VARCHAR2(40));
Table created.
SQL> insert into john values ('line one'||chr(10)||'line two');
1 row created.
SQL> select * from john;
COL1
----------------------------------------
line one
line two
1 UPDATE john
2* SET col1 = REPLACE(col1,chr(10),' ')
SQL> /
1 row updated.
SQL> SELECT * FROM john;
COL1
----------------------------------------
line one line two

Thanks friend john
