    Dear Rookie,
Make sure you understand oracle basic architecture
    and fundamentals very well.

you can refer Exam cram which is purely exam oriented
as well as STS is good source to pass the exam.

Thanks for your tip. There also appears to be lots of datadictionary views which I'm now trying to cover in between the oracle architecture components.!!!
Wow...this could be a long process.

Have you written the backup & recovery? or Network Admin. are these easier or harder than database admin?

    Rookie,

Download the self test software from the Oracle site - not just the sample questions but the ones you pay for. This gives you 300 sample questions. Once you can get 90% or over you are ready for the exam. many of the questions in the exam followed the same patterns as the sample questions I downloaded - it helped enormously with me and helped me on to a 90% mark which I really didnt expect.

    Good Luck

Lightbulb Yes, I passed OCP DBA!

    Dear Rookie,
Yes, I passed all paper required to be certified DBA.
I found both of them little bit harder than 2nd paper.

    good luck :)

Darn it! I was hoping that Network admin would be easier than data admin. Backup & Recovery too appears to be difficult when it comes to studying RMAN.

Did you take courses or did you learn oracle on your own?

Lightbulb I did it myself at home!

    Dear Rookie,
I attended class for first and second paper than the institute
went on bankrrupt(I loose $2500!), so i have to prepare rest of all
at home as I was not able to invest more money on classes! Instead
I brought Computer and jason's book to practice at home.

I found performance Tuning was most difficult one.
Backup & Recovery and Intro to pl/sql have same difficulty level.
