    temp extent size for DMT

    I read Oracle Doc recommendation that the best extent size for TEMP tablespace (DMT) is sort_area_size (or multiple) + db_block_size. When i applied this to my DB 5 minutes later it hit an error.. unable to extent tablespace TEMP.... when i change back to original extent sizinh which is 520k, the db running with no error.
    DB 8.1.7 on Solaris
    Any idea on this?

    second time
    524288 + 8192 = 532480 <- also hit error

    now init 520k next 520k..

    I am sorry.. I missed it out. Try the following..

    initial ==> 524288*1 + 8192 = 532480
    next ==> 524288
