Performance after increasing SGA on windows
I increased shared_pool_size and db_cache_size on windows, since then the perfoamce is degraded. Can someone help me on increasing the performance. The system has the following parameters:
Physical mem :512MB
Available :108,892KB
Virtual memory:1,801,760KB
Available : 928,128KB
No of CPU's 1
No of instances 1
SGA of instance : 96.932
Shared_pool :48MB
Db_cache_size:32MB
SGA Max size : 129.069
And i increased Shared_pool_size to 72MB
and db_cache_size :52MB
Thanks in advance.

errr are you joking..?! not even 1 MB!

Maybe you introduced swapping on the SGS -- 512Mb of physical memeory is really small for Oracle.

Depends what you are doing - my test/dev has four instances on a machine with 512MB, performance is limited mainly by the **** RAID-5. The SGA's are 50-125MB.
Naively, paging allows you to over-allocate SGA - anything not actually needed will get paged out.

Look for "Last edited by kiranakula76 on 04-21-2004 at 11:49 PM" at the bottom of your first post.
