how about patch to 8.1.7.4?
-
Hi Pando,
Thanks for reply. Do you think it is due to Patch? I have 8.1.7.3. Did you come accross this same problem already?
Regards

What Pando is saying is apply patch 8.1.7.4 There was a memory leak intermittiantly(sp) in the privious releases that wasn't fixed until .4 of course if it's still present, after you patch it. Oracle is just going to tell you to upgrade to 9i or 10g anyway
but I must say I haven't heard of any memory leaks in .4 anyone else?
Oracle it's not just a database it's a lifestyle!

BTW....You need to get a girlfriend who's last name isn't .jpg

If there was no ora-600, Oracle shop would have been closed long time ago.

You do if you run Windoze. Patch level 8.1.7.4.1.
Metalink suggests the leak can be ignored if it's "small"
