That's enough. And not one single email did I get.

What I'd like to see here is for no one to get email unless they specifically set the option to on in their own preferences or by clicking the option at the bottom of a new post. I definitely understand prolific posters and moderators not wanting to receive the mail. At the same time, I can understand folks with a problem wanting the mail so they don't have to check the forum every 2 or 3 minutes looking for an answer.

We'll have another go at this and see if we can get it straightened out. If other vb forums of the same version number are doing it, we should be able to do it too.

Personally, I think the email notification is for people that don't really want to participate but want answers to their questions. These people typically put URGENT in their posts.
Is it me or Isn't that what the forum is designed for?

Anyone that's read the sticky "How to ask questions in a forum" found on most forums will not post questions titled "Help", "Tough Question" etc. or for that matter put urgent in their posts, it goes without saying they're pretty much all urgent and we're relying on other peoples generosity for help. Enough said!

Anyway Linda; I for one hope that you get the email notification sorted. Like you said those who don't want it, can turn it off in their User CP

The last time we got a facelift we got 50% of the screen taken up by advertising. I vote for keeping it the same.

Anything I do has nothing to do with advertising, and I have no control over advertising at all.
