    No, that would not be enough, it should be *full table scan*, any "cheating" with indexes is useless here. So you must be sure that you realy perform FTS! IMHO analizing tables is the right way to do this - you achieve two goals with this: you are sure that delayed block clean out is done and you are sure that you have the best available statustics before you put the tablespace in read only mode (this however does not mean that you can't analize tables once you put the tablespace in read-onlymode, of course).

    Exactly! The doc is pretty superficial here.
