    Segment - Extent Location

    Hi all,

Do any of you have a script to find the location of all segments which are completely residing in one and only datafile. The Tablespace will have lots of datafiles.

    lemme expalin the scenario.

We are running oracle 8.1.7.4 on linux with a particular tablespace of 25gb. it has around 10 datafiles spreadout into many mountpoints.
This tablespace is highly fragmented and has around 10GB of freespace.

Since we are short of filesize , the only option is to create another tablespace and move the tables. But we do not have enough space to allocate for the new tablespace. So I thought may be we find out all the segments residing in particular datafiles , move them first then check if some more segments extents are still resiing in that datafile then move these tables also then shrink the datafile and add space or datafile to the new tablespace and continue the process with the next datafile ..

Please give me your comments ....

    Thanks

    Look for FILE_ID and SEGMENT_NAME in DBA_EXTENTS.
