ORA-00474: SMON process terminated with error

    Hi,

I am running a 9204 RAC on a 2 node cluster. The second node instance is crashing with "ORA-00474: SMON process terminated with error"

I have put the event event="10046 trace name context forever, level 4" in the init of the second node and started the instance.Unfortunately the instance did not crash for a week.

I took out this parameter and restarted the instance and it crashed again with the ORA-00474.

I compared the init files of node 1 and node 2 and they are same.
This is urgent and need advice.

    Thanks,
    copernicus

What does the smon trace file say?
A stack trace could be useful for searching metalink.

    Hi,

    The environment is

    os: solaris 8
    db : 9i R2
    hardware : node 1 and 2 are sun v1280

It says the errors are in stack trace but the trace files has 0 bytes in it.This is a consistent error.

    Thanks,
    coperniucs
