I have a oracle database 8.0.5 running on NT 4.0 service pack. We are
experiencing server problems and crashes on the NT system.
Has anybody faced a problem with oracle 8.0.5 on NT 4.0...
I am sure that it could be due to any reason other than oracle but i just wanted
to make sure that Oracle 8.0.5 does not have any reported problems
running on NT 4.0
Thanks !

I was maintining the 8.0.5 in my last project.there was no problem at all.We had NT 4.0 with service pack 6.First apply service pack 5 and then apply 6.
One thing oracle 8.0.5 did not give any problem at all..

I have been running oracle 8.05 on NT 4, SP 4 for almost 6 months with no problems. CAVEAT----> Nothing else is done on the server, Oracle is the only thing on it.
If you continue to have problems, flatten the machine and rebuild it, make sure the BIOS has the latest update available and all your device drivers are the most current.
Also, what types of errors are you getting when crashing? Blue screen of death? Orcale hanging? dr watson?
