    From Client m/c as sys

    Hi,
I am having Oracle 9i installed in win 2000 server.
When I log into server as sys as sysdba it works fine.
But when I try to log into the sql plus from a client m/c as sys as sysdba it says insufficient privileges.
The user with which I log into my client m/c is a valid user and belongs to ORA_DBA group.
remote_login_passwordfile = shared is the value set in the Init.ora and also in the spfile.ora.

    Any help is appreciated....

    Thanks
    Kaushik

Are you saying that if you have remote_login_passwordfile = shared then you cannot connect using:

    sqlplus sys/passwd@service as sysdba

Kaushik, ease up a bit. Rickenbacker was just trying to clarify.

I am having Sqlnet.authentication_services parameter set to NTS in the sqlnet.ora.
