    Rman

    sir,
    iam using oracle 9i database on win-2000 server. which i download from oracle.com.

    i use RMAN to backup by database .

    RMAN NOT WORKING IN NOARCHIVELOG MODE. Y

    TKPROF IS ALSO NOT WORKING. I THINK THESE UTILITY IS NOT INSTALL . Y

    Several people complained that tkprof.exe is missing from their bin directory in the downloaded version of oracle 9i. I am not sure if this is specific to W2K.

    it was a windows thing there is a patch from metalink available (how it ever got released in the first place is beyond me - hope the release manager got shot)

    In NOARCHIVELOG mode you can take OFFLINE backups only.
