Good afternoon, gang,

Hope you are all well. I was rather hoping to ask your very learned advice about another proposed solution that our team are working on:

We have two Data Guard 'databases' - an active (LIVE) database and a standby database (MART). We will use Data Guard to apply the redo logs from LIVE to MART once a day, overnight. During the day itself, LIVE will act as a live, production database whereas as MART will act as a reporting database. On MART, we hope to install Discoverer.

Is this possible? Is it possible to have two 'databases' in a Data Guard configuration both in an active mode? Also, will installing Discoverer simply install itself over the top of the database or does it require objects being installed in the database itself?

Many thanks for your help,

Mark
