    Oracle 8.1.7 vi Oracle 9.2 ?

    Hi,,,
    I have two Question:

    Q1: What the fastest in performace: Oracle 8.1.7 or Oracle 9.2?
    Q2: Is there any web site compares between Oracle 8.1.7 or Oracle 9.2?

    2. Try oracle's web site.

    8.1.7 will be desupported next year (it is already de-supported for
    reporting new bugs). At this point you have no choice but to go to 9.2.

    for certain platforms 8.1.7 is still fully supported

    Hi.

    Oracle9i is generally a little more resource hungry than 8i, but from my experience this is more than offset by the ease of maintenance and the development improvements. There are so many improved features that I use every day I would feel mortally wounded going back to 8i.

    9.2 for datawarehouse DBs load is very powerful

    9.2 is always faster than 8.1.7, except when it isn't.
