These are the BIG AMERICAN miles, unlike the 1.6km versions we have to put up with elsewhere?

    Conversion problems.....

.....LOL.....Yes DaPi and jmodic, I don't quite have the conversion process down just yet I was thinking hard about putting that there, then decided on a compromise of saying "something like", I hoped that "compromise" would spell it out clearly, and I must say it has...LOL

It's easy: subtract 32, mutiply by 5 and divide by 9.

    Conversion.....

, I like to try and keep it simple

I figured 80/3.15 was more simplistic than 80-32*5/9 , All those added steps just cloud the matter.

    Conversion.....

I went on a fact finding mission and the result is as follows.

    Distance: 80 miles * 1.609 = 128.72Km.

I did that in 5 inches of snow at 50 MPH

    Conversion.....

Do you mean to tell me that the both of you were around when the British were still using shillings and farthings...?

I need to hit the books a little, I thought they did away with shilling and farthing in the 19th century.

It's my understanding that it is just the Pound and Pence now...?
