    Angry DEVELOPER 2000 ON ORACLE 8i

    COULD YOU PLEASE TELL ME HOW I CAN FIND INSTALLATION DOCS OF DEVELOPER 2000 ON ORACLE 8i ON WINDOWS 2000.I TRY TO REGISTER TO METALINK BUT I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHAT support identifier MEANS.
    MY PROBLEM IS;
    AFTER I HAVE INSTALLED DEVELOPER 2000 ON ORACLE 8i SERVER IN THE SAME PC( WIN 2000 PROF ) I COULDN'T CONNECT TO SERVER FROM SQL* PLUS.

    I believe D2K must be installed in a separate ORACLE_HOME. If you check your current setting for O_H, it's probably not the same as for your data server. Consequently, when you try to connect via SQL*Plus the wrong tnsnames.ora file is being consulted for connection information.

    Of course, I'm guessing here since you didn't include the error messages you're getting.

    First, try to ping the db by tnsping, if not succedd, then
    try to modified the file "TNSNAME.ora" file by using the correct infos.
