    UNDOTBS1 vs ROLLBACK SEGS

    To all The 9i Gurus
    New to 9i. just need a clarification on a point. Created 9i database and imported all my 8i data into it.

    undo_management=AUTO
    undo_retention=10800
    undo_tablespace=UNDOTBS1

    QUESTION
    RBS is replaced by UNDOTBS1. Do i need to create another rollback segments tablespace?
    If I do could you say why

    RBS TS is *not* replaced with UNDO TS. You can still create a RBS TS if you want.

    4.5 version of SAP does not support UNDO_TABLESPACES, you must use RBSs if your database is 9i. It doesn't support pga_aggregate_target either.

    By setting undo_suppress_errors = true, oracle ignores the specific RBS setting by the application. This is a good parameter, when many 3rd party applications do not allow to change their code.
