    hello everybody,
    I have oracle 8.1.5 on NT and I see partitioning is not enabled ,when I try to create a partitioned table it gives error and in v$option also it gives false to partitioning.I checked in CD also but there no component is found regarding partitioning.also I see
    Export transportable tablespaces false
    Function-based indexes FALSE
    Instead-of triggers FALSE
    will i be able to use these features.or these r not in 8.1.5 ,what's the issue?

    I believe there is a way to enable those options, but am unaware of how this is done. Check for notes on Metalink, I'm sure they'll have it.

    Hi ,
    Try running this $ORACLE_HOME\rdbms\admin\ Catpart.sql in sys.If it doesnt work,then I think u must have not enabled the partition option while instalation.I have faced this some time before.So u have to reinstall Oracle, with the partition option checked while installation.

    Cheers,
    Vinod Kumar.

    SELECT * FROM V$VERSION;

    The first line should indicate whether or not you have Enterprise Edition.
