    rollback/undo

Hi, is there any way I can migrate a tablespace to be an undo tablespace.

I have just migrated an 8iR3 database to 9iR2 and want to use undo, so I thought I would drop all my rollback segments and use my rollback tablespace for undo.

Obviously it needs to be an undo tablespace, I was hoping dbms_space_admin might have some procedure to do it and the docs dont seem to mention it.

Is there a way of doing it?

    Cheers

Why not simply create a new undo tablespace. Then drop the existing undo tablespace after offlining the rollback segments.

yeah I could do this, but I want to save on work. The rollback tablespace has about 32 datafiles associated with it spread out for I/O so I would have to script round generating the same files with same size etc etc.

I'm guessing there is no quick convert tool available then?

You could just reuse them ...

    i.e. :
    - drop original one
    - DO NOT delete the datafiles
    - create new one, listing filenames and "reuse" instead of size...
