Analyze also gives the same error
Hi,
The docs talks abt bug in 9i but i am already on the higher release than the mentioned patch set. New finding is that the analyze table compute statistics also give the same error. But the file id mentioned with the 01114 error does not exist, how can I find error block without the right file id. Has anybody ever faced a problem of false file id with ora-01114.
Thanks

Problem Solved
Hi,
The problem was with the Temp datafile. There was some OS corruption on it. So whenever the analyze used to use the tempfile extensively, it would abend. As the tablespace is locally managed we do not get proper info about the problem.
Thanks to all for the support.

How did I find the problem
Hi,
Actually analyze talked about a file id which does not exist.
I read a note on metaink, which indicated that if you are using locally managed tablespace, and the total no. of other datafiles are less than 100, the temp file id will start from 100. SO in my case the file id was 102, so I narrowed down to the tempfile3. I offlined it and then ran the same analyze it worked perfectly.
It took me a lot of time to find the right doc in metalink.
Some times the most unexpected ones help u out.
Thanks to all
