Thread: how to increase the datafiles

    Hi

    Ours is a 24x7 database.In our Init.ora file the db_files are set to 20.
    Now the need arises to Increase the db_files.
    could you please let me know the steps in detail to do this.

    Increase the value of db_files in init.ora and bounce the db.
