If you are able to make database keep running for a while even when all the controlfiles are gone, then you realy are worth every dollar of your sallary, no matter how much you get paid.

So if the clueless friend, who "Even he do not know about location of datafiles, logfiles on hard-disk," what makes him so sure he's lost all of his control files? How would he know he's lost the control files, but not know where other files are located?

    Dear Friends,

    Database is not open.
    My question was :
Is it possible to create a controlfile, when one don't know about the location of datafiles, logfiles and even don't have any backup of controlfiles?

    Thanks
