    if you use RULE hint you know it is going to use all the indexes anyways so what´s the point trying something you know already?

    The point here is soleley not to use Index, but to see how it benifits or still degrades the performace..

    Well in his post he did mention even by using Index hint CBO didnt prefer..but he feels indx usage will better, so what wrong to use Rule hint and see ?

    he said he hint the query but still index wasnt pick up and that must because he used the wrong syntax!

    also RULE cannot be used, his tables are partitioned!
