Thread: Datafile recovery

    Hi,

    I have a hot backup of a tablespace. Can anybody help me, how to recover that tablespace in some other database.
    Oracle is running on NT and version is 8.1.6.

    I dont think you can take one datafile from one database to another

    Check out transportable tablespaces. There are some very detailed steps in 8i Admin Guide (Chap 9). It involves much more than just backing up the datafiles.
