I was reviewing upgrade to 9i book[Benjamin, oracle press] at a book store. Has anyone used this book, particularly if the CD attached to book does it have different question than the ones in the book. I have seen Oracle Press CD's has really the same questions as given at the end of chapter, in a way CD's have no add-in value. Any one?
Both of the 9i New Features books (new features, and new features for administrators exam) are losers. By far, the most worthless Oracle-related books I have ever purchased. Permanent door stop status.
stecal,
Why? I found them pretty useful for my OCP upgrade. The book by Benjamin is specifically written for OCP exam but the other one by Robert Freeman is not specific for OCP.
ocp9999,
Apart from these books I also used notes by Dr. Tim Hall (also a contributor in this Forum).
I wanted to find out if the CD at the back of Benjamin book has the same questions as given at the end of each chapter or they are different questions? Can someone answer that please. Thanks.
Do you think studying notes of Dr. Tim Hall is good
enough to pass OCP 9i new features exam?
Thanks
sysdba,
The notes are brief but very useful. I would suggest to read one of the book or Oracle Docs before taking exam. The notes are very good for quick revision.

When I took the 9i upgrade test, there was not any book release. So I relay on following documents:
1. Oracle 9i New Features by Howard Roger (it is a downloaded version, and out of circulation, but you may find it at Tim Hall’s website http://www.oracle-base.com.)
2. Tim Halls Notes,
3. Self Test,
4. Oracle doc from 9i CD.
So, could not answer your question about CD vs. Book.
