IBM TMS or Veritas Netbackup ??
has anyone ever used any of this two products(IBM TMS, Veritas Netbackup) for corporate backup sulotion ?? please kindly give us any of your opinion or comment from the Oracle DBA's point of view...
thanks a lot~~~
Veritas netbackup is a robust backup product.
I've never used Veritas, but I've used IBM's TSM at both my current and previous locations. TSM was a bit difficult to set up a few versions ago, but the current version is much better (and the documentation is better too). I like TSM also because it integrates well with RMAN. (I'm not sure if Veritas does or not... but my hunch is it does too).
I think once TSM is installed and configured, it works very well.
I've had good results with the Netbackup. It interfaces with RMAN well too. It also has a nice GUI (if you're in to that)
Oracle it's not just a database it's a lifestyle!
BTW....You need to get a girlfriend who's last name isn't .jpg
I've had very good luck with Veritas Netbackup.
