Thread: two listeners

    two listeners

    Hi Friends,

    We have 2 DBs in our AIX 4.3.3 RS/600 server, Ora8i and Ora9i.
    Is it possible to have 2 listeners up for each of the database?
    Is it recommended to have just one? or which one is better?

    Sure you can have more than one listener per database. Make sure you start them up on different ports. If only one listener can handle the load, then one is fine. Otherwise, two is better.
