    listener for 8i and 9i

    Hi Friends,

    We have an existing production 8i DB on our unix server
    and its listener file is in $ORACLE_HOME8i/network/admin.

    We installed a new 9i DB and its listenert is in
    $ORACLE_HOME9i/network/admin.

    Which listener should I start or use to connect to both DBs?

    Either one. They are forward/backward compatible.
